Buckwallow preride

Long weekend means road trip time. The 6th Ontario Cup event is next weekend and Heather gave the ok to use this as a training ride. Sweet. Nothing like group riding with 800 racers. Not all at once.

This meant getting a few laps in of the course. Buckwallow is a place you don't just go into blind. Lots of rocks and roots. It's more the blind rocks that you need to know the line. This is probably the most technical of the series races and will be one of the most physically demanding on the whole body.

Craig from Big Ring Racing was in the area visiting and joined the crew from MCC. He was on the bike of choice. 29er singlespeed was the perfect bike for this race. There is no real climbs to mention. A couple rocks to go up but that's it.

We put in a few laps and I pretty much have the lines figured out. Traction is the big thing. Changed out the rear tire when I got home. No low tread tire used here. The course was a bit slick right now and they are calling for rain this week.

I'm not to concerned about results for this race, it's more for training. The start is going to be really important though and I'll definitely be heading for the front. There are not alot of places to pass but there are tons of places to get stalled up. Pictures later.

Rest day today.
